3 Life Lessons From My Writer's Block

MINDSETSELF DEVELOPMENT

7/14/20252 min read

Hello old friend, i’ts me again. Where have I been? What a loaded question. If you spare me just 5mins of your time, I’ll explain.

Since I started this blog (almost two years ago), I’ve been publishing bi-weekly. Consistency mattered to me. Back when I was pivoting into tech, I’d find these amazing female programmers with blogs… but they’d post once every 3–6 months. And for a nosy person like me? That couldn’t run. So I made it my mission to show up here regularly. But lately, I fell off a bit.

"Can’t AI Just Write for You?"

I know what you’re thinking: Is writer’s block still a thing in 2025? Can’t you just use AI? Sure, AI helps me tie the final knots after I’ve written the bulk of a post. But it can’t think like me. It doesn’t know what conversations I’ve had in the past three weeks. It hasn’t been deep in that podcast I listened to on my run that shifted how I see something. AI can help refine, but not originate. And honestly? I love writing. There’s something beautiful about turning thoughts and feelings into words that someone else can absorb, and maybe even use to act on their own life. I love the drafting, the refining, the reworking. AI might make it faster. But it can't make it ✨me✨.

I Needed That Break

I’ll be real, I felt guilty picking the blog back up after ghosting it for so long. You know when someone messages you, and you leave them on delivered for weeks... Then replying starts to feel rude? Yeah, that was me. But something shifted. Over the past few months, I’ve been jotting notes again. Drafting topic ideas. The spark is coming back. And I have so much to share.

3 Things I’m Taking With Me

  • It’s actually okay to rest. When you force yourself to push through exhaustion, you don’t speed up success — you delay it. Sometimes, the most productive thing your brain can do… is reset.

  • AI is amazing, but you have to be so unique that it can’t replace you. (Don’t get it twisted, I LOVE ChatGPT. We go together real bad.)

  • If you’ve left something behind, a hobby, a project, a passion, and feel like it’s been “too long” to come back… you can.

I’m soooo excited for what’s coming.

You’re in for a treat.
